Tried 3 friends. 1 iphone 4, 1 ipod touch and 1 email address on a mac. And all have failed saying " (Contact name) needs to to update to the latest version of facetime".
I guess this is why its beta? -

ok so i signed in, but i cant facetime myself from my mac to iphone 4....or my iphone 4 to mac...it keeps saying call failed on my mac....and on my iphone 4 it says user unavailable for facetime!

Tried it on my iPhone 4 to my MacBook and the other way around and it works great. A windows version would be nice so I can facetime my Gf.

I had this two. After some investigation (thank you Apple for not making this clear), I found out that the iPhone and iPod must be running the most current version of the firmware. 4.1? I am still using 4.0 -- haven't upgrade because I'm jailbroken and was waiting for Pwnage Tool 4.1 (just released today).
So, I'm pretty sure that if you upgrade your phone to 4.1 then you should be able to FaceTime it from your desktop! -
I just installed Facetime on Mac system and I like it,,..
One good feature is you can add many Email address which will be used to call you ....

I could call by my IP4 (JB w/3G Unrestrictor)to my Father's Imac,FaceTime in Italy and that was awesome..but weirdly he couldn't call me from his Imac to my Iphone...Anybody with some tips?
