I find with 4.1 my iphone 4 keeps loosing its wifi connection and forgetting network passwords, any one else found this ?? sometimes switching from portrait to landscape can trigger this fault.

considering theres not really any major upgrade in this update its no big deal for it to be delayed for me. i dont need an unlock although i will take it so my phones worth a bit more when i go to sale it right before iphone5 or iphone4HD+. rather they fix it before release then release it and have millions upon millions of complaining

I've been waiting for iOS 4 for iPad ever since I bought it! Multitasking, folders, unified mailbox are just a few essential features I miss daily in the Pad..... I need it nooow! Please??

i think we need to let developers to successfully do their good help to test all of the issue before releasing it to us (ultrasn0w). I am suffering the unlock of BB 5.14.2 for awhile now but ok to wait...but hope it would come out and help us soon....worth the wait..

I don't get it. Do they review the complaints and test the iOS right before release? They supposedly had numerous complaints about wifi which I'm sure were made well before release. And don't software releases vary across countries, why would incorrectly displaying Japanese characters affect the rest of the world?

Sucks that it had to delayed but it's better that they get it all fixed before sending out buggy POS crap like on Android every week. BTW, this is a large update for iPad users who been waiting for some time now but nothing too special for iphone users.

I don't understand the frustration in this forum about the delay of iOS 4.2. Apple should make no compromise whatsoever on the quality of operating system software. We should remind ourselves that a smartphone is a complex system, even if it is so small and relatively cheap. I rather wait for another few weeks for iOS 4.2 and receive an upgrade with as few nasty bugs as possible.
There are other SW companies that sell OS software full of bugs and even charge money for it. iOS 4.2 is a free upgrade and it appears that Apple still wants to make it as good as possible. For sure I will jailbreak it when it is out.
Unlocking is a nice hack, but not really required in Canada and Europe, since all iPhone 4 you buy from the Apple Store come factory unlocked anyhow. Maybe our US friends will soon enjoy this as well (or get a cheap flight to to Canada and buy it there).

because, clearly there are other japanese speaking and writing people everywhere around the world, who actually use the japanese characters. to generalize and say that it wouldnt affect "the rest of the world" is illogical. there are obviously japanese residents living in the US and elsewhere other than japan, so clearly it affects us too.

Hello.. I am also having currently problem with the WIFI on the iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.1!! I can't connect to internet help me!! I did every thing that anyone would do to try in solving the problem, unfortunately it didn't work.
Could any one inform Apple.?

People should understand the 4.2 is a BIG upgrade of the iPad OS. So by releasing Ultrasnow now would mean that they would risk the chance of Apple closing the gap so people with iPads couldn't unlock after 4.2.
I think that's the main reason for why they wait.
For me it doesn't matter. My iPad if a WiFi model only, and here in Denmark our phone operator "3" unlocks all the new iPhone 4 free of charge from day one after purchase.
But sill I also need the ultrasnow so I can unlock my nephew's phone - it's not from the company "3" so it's also locked. Not to mention I need 4.2 so I can multitask on my iPad.
