What ever said and done I am sure Apple will get it once they think its stable enough.

Is it just me or is Steve Jobs kind of an unprofessional **** when he responds to user emails?

AirPrint DEFINITELY STILL WORKS with SHARED printers on a mac. I just
did it with the latest iOS 4.2 GM and the latest 10.6.5 (10H574)
build. I printed a web page in mobile safari to a shared lexmark
printer. I was also able to print to a HP color printer (not one of
the ones listed as compatible). These are all network printers that I
shared off my mac.Don't believe everything you read.

We will just have to wait and find out when the actual ios4.2 comes out. That will tell us the answer to everything.

interesting! I thought that only HP printers were compatible!

I don't care about AirPrint at all. At. All.
The only 4.2 feature you might say I'm looking forward to is the customized text tones. Other than that admittedly small thing, I don't even care about 4.2.
