Orange UK Reveals Subsidized iPad Pricing; Starts At £199
Earlier in the week, Orange UK had announced that they will be offering Apple's iPad Wi +3G model for subsidized rates for customers willing to commit to a contract for the data plan.
In a short press release announcing the subsidized iPad pricing, Orange said:
"Orange UK today announced it will offer new purchase options for iPad users, including more affordable prices when purchased with a data service plan, for iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G models in the coming months"

Rubbish. I'll wait for the 2nd generation. Who wants a contract on iPad. I personally will prefare to buy it rather than committing myself to a contract.

rip off I'd rather buy a iPad and make use of my wifi or other free wifi if you have bt broadband then you get bt hotshots for free it's not like a phone more of a laptop the other idea would be tether the iPhone to it which comes with a data plan Anyway it works out cheaper in the long run it's just a marketing strategy fooling people into thinking it's cheaper this way shame on the carriers

Putting the fact that the Ipad 2g is coming in the new year aside, compared to Apples standard pricing the deal is an Ipad + 2 years of 3G service for £250 with only the intial price to pay up first. So if you were going to buy an Ipad on credit, I think it's a good deal. But if you were going to get one and be prepared to pay cash, I think you would be better of with a PAYG sim.

As Peng-peng12 said, Orange and T-Mobile UK are now part of the same company, I believe the other operator that is going to launch a subsidised iPad in the UK is 3 mobile.
