Apple Selects Backlight Supplier For Next Generation iPad; Indicating No OLED Screen For iPad 2?
Apple has selected the supplier for the backlight unit for the next generation iPad according to a report by Digitimes. A Taiwanese company, Coretronic is supposedly supplying the backlighting units to display vendors Chimei Inolux and LG Display – who in turn would use them to make displays for the iPad. If this news ends up being correct, that would effectively mean the end of the probability of OLED or AMOLED displays making it to the iPad 2.

i guess i will not be buying an iPad anytime soon. the specs are still too basic for me. galaxy tab's is not any better :)

Common we needed Amoled on this one, it really looks awesome.

If you think little bit more, you will understand why OLED/AMOLED is not suitable for iPad type device. When I read the old news, i just leak a laugh.They have to consider the relective+active back light design to cover both light conditiom. And, just little highr resolution. And, try to in crease the contras ration.
