New Version Of TinyUmbrella Will Allow You To Restore iPhone, iPad And iPod Touch Without iTunes
Developer of TinyUmbrealla (or Firmware Umbrealla) is working on a new version, which will allow you to restore your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch without iTunes.
TinyUmbrella allows you to take backups of SHSH blobs (ECID SHSH) and also protects iPhone (iPhone 4) from baseband updates when you update it with the latest iOS firmware.

so wait i really got little knowledge of what tinty umbrella is, but according to what I read it could serve as a jailbreaking tool i guess? updating and presenving your baseband but not jailbreaking right?

This was what I was thinking when I used Tiny Umbrella to preserve my baseband and upgrade to new version. I successfully preserved my baseband, but I failed to do it when restoring to older version (since 4.2.1 is not untethered jailbreak). Anyway, bravo for this update. I am always your guys' fan.

When I upgrade iphone 3Gs from 4.1 to 4-2-1, I used custome firmware and Redsnow. After that it went to thethere and as I tried with Redsnow0.9.6b6, It did not work to untethere. I have a new bootrom in my iphone and for now it´s tethered, nothing more can be done at the moment. Is this work to solve my problem? or I should wait for untethered jb? Thank you.

The point is that if you had the ability to update without upgrading the baseband you wouldnt be stucked with an 800$ ipod touch

This is what this program is, save ur SH then select the previous SH, start the server then launch itunes and downgrade :) job done

yeah there is, but u need baseband 1.59.00

if ur feeling lucky and downgrade ur firmware, it SOMETIMES not all the time downgrades the baseband

man is there any update on this i cant restore my iphone for nothing ive tried all the methods and they all do not work..ive gotten 1015 errors,3194 errors,1600 errors and a 2 error so please is there any going through what i am if so comment and let me kno did u resolve your problem or not im desperate to get my iphone back working please...
