Apple Hikes Prices In UK Due To Increase In VAT
If you’re in the UK, you are probably aware that value-added taxes (VAT) have increased from today to 20 percent from 17.5 percent.
Apple had taken a downtime on its online store earlier today to increase the prices of its products to take into account the increase in the VAT.

When the tax in Oakland, CA increased from 8.75% to 9.75%, none of the products or companies here absorbed that either. It was passed on to us the consumers. What's the point of this post?

Taxed on our wages, which go into our bank accounts and gets taxed again, taxed on the property we live in, road fund tax, Now a VAT increase....effecting every other aspect of our lives....Would be so much easier for the powers that be to just say "listen you work 45-50hrs a week and we'll give you a car, a house and provide all your other needs we're gonna get all your money anyway". Screwed over at every turn why should Apple be any different.

If it wasnt for us paying benefits to foreigners and free healthcare to foreigners, the country wouldn't need to hike vat!!! I've never claimed a benefit in my life! I'm a British soldier that works for the little money I earn! So **** everyone that has a problem with my comments! You want proof, speak to some of the people that get paid child benefit, people that had children here and moved back home to other countries!

to fingers: a REAL soldier wouldn't complain or disgrace the uniform he/she wears by complaining about making "little" money then complain about the people, including all citizens, that utilize the country's system...you don't like it then blame the politicians not the country's citizens...my father in law is a retired colonel of the U.S. Army and he doesn't complain like you because he wore the uniform proudly rather than wear it for the "little" money...the real root of the problem is the political system and unfortunately when times get tough people begin to take it out on the immigrants rather than the very people that set up the system only to benefit themselves and not its citizens...i understand your frustration but education, my friend, is key...
