Apple: Steve Jobs Taking A Medical Leave Of Absence
Apple has just issued a media advisory to reveal that Steve Jobs, co-founder and CEO is taking a medical leave of absence from the company.
Steve Jobs will continue to be the CEO and involved in strategic decisions. Apple’s COO Tim Cook will oversee the day to day operations in Steve Jobs absence.

I feel bad for him. He's sick and people allways are mad at him for creating a "blocked" phone. I personally have never said this I love the iPhone. And I would rather have a block phone the a android. Btw mr. Nightmare dude apple created the computer Microsoft just made the operating system.

Apple did invent the GUI for computers ;) they were however one of first to bring a consumer computer out. I think only one company had before them by like 1-2 yrsAlso Konrad developed the first computer that could be programmed.... in 1936...Unless Steve changed his name... You get my point?He still is a great guy and achieved much more than Bill Gates seemed to. Unforunatly Gates did get the GUI more refined quicker (Not better, but easier for normal people) and got a bigger base because of it, thus actually jumping ahead in the game.

I think you will find that it was Amiga that brought out the first GUI in a popular consumer computer.

If I remember it was Lisa with the GUI in 1983. And it was 1976/7 with the Consumer Computer for Apple whilst in 1974/5 was Scelbi & Mark-8 Altair & IBM 5100 Computers.If I'm wrong let me know, but back it up. I can say my Grandparents invented the first ever computer, but that doesn't make it true nor does it give dates or specificity on the issue.From what I remember Amiga wasn't the first.

Oh and if I remember correctly, workbench(?) was released about a year or two after Lisa and its GUI.

Hopefully Mr. Jobs will feel better soon so that he can come back on Stage and present the next generation iphone/ipad/ipod touch/ipod lines.

Nothing will happen, if steve expires sooner or later.. The world will just miss one Genius but there are already several now in the Apple world. He admitted in one interview that he was probably late to realize that what Bill Gates had? That Bill made a software company instead of hardware. But what I see from here now that after launching so many successful OS versions and then integrating iOS successfully in mobile devices (Which i think is the future of computing) as well as more developers coming to write for Mac platform. He has done his job to make Apple a successful hardware based software company which makes best software for his best hardware.Get well soon Steve, even though after all this hard work we need your input in Apple.
