iOS 4.3 Multitasking Gestures Demoed On The iPhone
Some of our readers were disappointed to find out that the new four- and five-finger multitouch gestures for iPad that were first noticed in iOS 4.3 beta will not be enabled for customers in iOS 4.3, based on the clarification issued by Apple in iOS 4.3 beta 2 release notes.

First. this will suck

I like the moving between aps thing. If they remove the home button it would take getting used to. i don't think it would be better esthetically.
-
Well I kinda been doing Mutitasking gestures for a while with activator from cydia. I like it. Makes thing roll much faster. I think apple will do it a little different for the iPhone. Not five finger gestures.

I think the deletion of the home button would be a serious mistake. It would completely get rid of one handed use, having to hold the phone with one hand and use your entire other hand to do what one finger did before. I will think twice one ordering a the next gen iPhone if this is the case. On another note, where the heck is the untethered jailbreak for 4.2?
-
You bring up a good point about one handed use. The only time that I use both hands is for zooming. Removing the home button would really make it less user friendly, at least for me.
-
We want the 4.2 jailbreak! I don't give a f*&k if a new iOS is due out tomorrow.
-
Have been with apple since they brought out the iphone. Now im leaving not cause att not because of steve. Because its nothing but a fucking waiting game to have a decent phone that now gets shamed by droid. **** you apple, **** you Jbreak sick of it. Peace you fucks.
-
Good riddance
-
And we would get into DFU mode how without a home button. Just because multi-touch exists, doesn't automatically mean the removal of the home button.
-
Volume up? Volume down? Still at least 2 buttons there they can use.
-
Getting rid of the home button would be a big mistake.
-
Here Here. All the talk of new firmware and hardware yet still no proper untethered jailbreak for firmware released 2 months ago.
-
I say get rid of the home button in favour of a larger screen, I'm sure good old apple will make the switch intuitive...
-
Considering the four or five fingers needed to do those, I doubt it means the removal of Home Button. I think it's more of a failsafe system, in case you like break your home button or something, because undid break mine once (poor little drowner 3G)
-
I dont use the home button at all, i use activator from cydia!I just double tap on the status bar to simulate a press of the home button nd i swipe down to show the application switcher!
-
naa, remove the home button make the screen bigger and add a better battery, bets phone or ipodtouch ever
-
There was a video, you should have posted that too.
-
There shod not be any discovery isues if there is a short demo of the feature when you start the iPhone or your first app!
-
nixing the home button would be a savior my 1-1/2 year old son is always playing baby tv apps on my phone but really likes to push the home button(because it clicks?) and then he proceeds to text people in my contact list, call people, use voice control(a completely useless feature by the way), delete apps and cause utter chaos on my spring board. Get rid of the home button!!!!! I for one am all for it.take a look at the kinect. everything will one day be button freegesture based tech is one step closer to integrating tech with our lives, it adds a human element to the thing we use everydayplus it's kinda like using the force

This would be a great idea if & only if they use the gained space to increase the size of the retna display. If it just creates a smooth black space at the bottom then it's not worth it. While I don't think the discovery issue would be much as anyone who buys one can get a demo if they want one. I would like to know how this would effect current features like screen shots.

I think the deletion of the home button would be a serious mistake. realy

seems like great idea...but need to check & balance with iphone condition...especially screen size to make it friendly user interface...
