Verizon To Throttle Data Speeds For Top 5% Of Bandwidth Hogs
It looks like Verizon is already worried about the impact of Apple’s iPhone on its network.
Its hardly been a few hours since it started taking pre-orders for the much awaited iPhone 4 and it has already announced plans to throttle data speeds and optimize content for smartphone users.

I think Verizon should not do things to valuable clients without letting them know exactly what is happening to their wireless connection or Verizon will have to deal with angry and unsatisfied customers. The same thing happens here in Canada with Bell Home Internet Service. Not good for anybody...

LOL... they said they can handle anything! now they say different thing! good luck with that. Verizon is Verizon they don't change... have fun for all Verizon customer....
-
Not switching to Verizon anytime soon, AT&T is just fine in my area.

Verizon is for losers

Why let the top 5% ruin the experience for everyone. If you are a top 5 you have bigger issues than being throttled... some of them being trying to get up the courage to talk to a girl in person or trying to figure out what your favorite magic card is.

Wow it seems that the iPhone is going to be Verizon's flagship phone. It hasn't been released yet and they are imposing limits. I have never had any problems on AT&T.
-
iphone was meant to be gsm not cdma to take advantage of the data flow. verizon iphone users will learn this in the hard way and ill be laughing at them with my AT&T iphone in hand.
-
And so it begins. AT&T has overcome most of their iPhone problems. Now verizon is gonna run into all the same old problems.. Yeah, good luck verizon...

Verizon **** you and eat ****

Best comment in a VZ iPhone review I've read came from MacWorld: "if you're using the Internet and your phone rings, your Internet connection immediately drops"Now this, and expect that top 5% to creep down to 10, 15, 20, 25%... to keep their network from crashing an burning. Yep, that VZW grass sure is greener...LOL

HAhahahaha! AT&T just gets better and better....

Funny when it was about the droid, the droid did everything no limits. Droid customers use more data than iphones.....blah blah blah. Now they are getting a phone that will tax their system, they are already putting limits. Tells me the droid did not sell well, even with buy one get one free. Glad they are getting the iphone though, hope it forces Att to open up facetime on 3G

Hope AT&T won't do the same... scared

Cricket wireless did this to me on a "unlimited" broadband card. When I reached my 5 gb limit it limited my speed I called coustomer service a few times before they told me what was happening. I then canceled the plan and express my disappointment with cricket anytime it comes up. I also checked the website and priceplans the 5gb limit wasn't mentioned

Verizon iPhone...... Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha good luck as I have posted so many times its the phone not the service provider and yes I have an AT&T iPhone I figure in 10 years the providers will be fast enough to stop all the problems with the service

Gonna have alot of disapointed customers on Verizon come feb 11.....hehehehe

he Chronic Dev-Team has just released the latest version of Greenpois0n, which features an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 without the need for SHSH blobs. The exploit they are using has already been patched in iOS 4.3.Currently it is Mac only and is a beta release. A Windows version will be released "soon." You can download the jailbreak from http://www.greenpois0n.com/ orhttp://www.mediafire.com/?1kdf96u59b12zte

Y'all are idiots defending AT&T. They have had there own share of problems with their network. They have been Raising prices and adding restrictions and throttling regularly for years. Having two suppliers will only drive competition and make it better for everyone in the end. I personally think the iPhone works great on t-mobile my problem lies with apple making it harder and harder to update/unlock their phones. I definitely think I might be going with an android phone next. Between the terrible service providers and apples restrictive policies they are going to lose the smartphone war besides everything I've been reading about the iphone5 makes it seem like they are falling further behind other top smartphones.

Now only if ATT learn something.

Yeah, Verizon always sucked at data and internet speed. now they are going to pick and choose who has the faster data. No good. I would not pay no lousy $30 a month to get a slower connection then everybody else. thats like buying a ferrari with a honda engine in it. lol

Jailbreak and install my3G through Cydia and you can use FaceTime over 3G
