Verizon iPhone 4 Teardown Reveals Dual-Mode CDMA, GSM Qualcomm Chip
As some users start receiving their Verizon iPhone, folks at iFixit and iFixyouri have got their hands on one of them and done what every geek would love to do i.e. to crack open Apple's CDMA iPhone 4 to see what's inside.

Ok this seems odd. Because with the GSM phone, you will need a sim card, which I'm pretty sure you do. Now if if this is a qualcomm, then where is a sim card slot of the phone?

Not to mention that I already know that CDMA does not need any sim card.

It does not have a sim slot but the chip can run the sim if the fone was set up that way. But it's not.I would say they are using theses chips because they are making as many as the can for the iPhone 5 and it's easier than having one chip for the i5, one for the CDMA i4 and one for the GSM i4

I'd somewhat have to agree. But we can't speculate here. We do not know what Apple plans to do with the iphone 5. I bet you that even if it did come out on the same day, there will be a lot of confusion going around in the stores. Needless to day. AT&T iphone next generation will come out in June as it always has been. As for Verizon, I'm sure it will come out in January. If both came out at the same time, it will cost a lot of money on Apple and that would be a bad move on them.

I just wondering.. If someone left the verizon i4 at some store and the other people found it.. Will he return it back to the owner or sell it on craigslist or what??? Haha.. I just feel weird when the phone doesnt have a sim..

I bought a new VZW iPhone 4, which BTW doesn't drop calls, and works flawlessly. One of the iPhone Hacks articles has already said that iPhone 5 won't be LTE because Apple is waiting for the full roll-out to be stabilized in 2012. It may be dual-mode 3G, but who cares. I will never switch over to American Dropcall & Telegraph. And, iOS 4.X will add other goodies while I wait for the iPhone 6.

so if you replace the verizon surrounding with that of one that has a sim slot you would be able to put a sim card in it right? seeing that the sim parts are there, i have a verizon one and i want to try it if its possible, but wanna make sure but i know its a idea!!!!

I have found an Iphone 4, model A1349 in Belgium but I wonder if I can use it, as I can't put my SIM in there?
