PwnageTool 4.2 For Mac: iOS 4.2.1 Untethered Jailbreak For iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch & Apple TV 2G Released; Fixes iBooks Problem
iPhone Dev team have just released PwnageTool 4.2 for iOS 4.2.1 that incorporates the untether exploit used by Chronic Dev Team in greenpois0n that was released few days back.
PwnageTool 4.2 will allow iPhone users to safely restore to a pre-jailbroken iOS 4.2.1 firmware and retain their current baseband so that they can use Ultrasn0w to unlock their GSM iPhone. PwnageTool 4.2 also includes fixes for iBooks issue that we had reported earlier and Wi-Fi problem on Apple TV 2G.

I'm confused.. I have 4.1 with baseband 02.10.04. Can I unlock my iphone 4 finally? I've been waiting for months.. :( I live in the Middle East and need it unlocked..

I have iphone 4 running 4.2.1 with baseband 03.10.01, can I use this to jailbreak and unlock. I had to do a restore and lost my unlock. I'm dyin over here. Oh and of course a huge thank you to the DEV TEAM for all their work!

Big credit and thanks for the hard work these guys out into finding a JB. If it was not for people like them we would be stuck with a basic iPhone and getting governed by Steve Jobs & the Apple Crew.....

my baseband is 01.59.00 im on 4.2.1. i just use tiny umbrella everytime i jb.

I'm running 4.0 unlocked, so this doesn't really effect me, but good work regardless. And for everyone complaining about an unlock, you more than welcome to find your own, but you wouldn't need it if you went stupid enough to update or you could have just bought a factory.

Oracle VM Virtuabox (or is it virtualbox?). Look it up and run OSX on your Windows machine... And stop complaining!

HELP!! I just used this PwnageTool 4.2 to restore iphone 4 to 4.2.1 firmware without upgrading base band. Everything seemed ok unless it came to restore data from backup. After 10 minutes of restoring (had much data - photos, videos) it gave me error: Can not backup, because backup can not be saved to computer. iPhone 4 is now on 4.2.1 software but all my data (contacts, calendar, sms, etc.) is missing. I tried use restore button from itunes but it started downloading iOS firware from Apple. I assume apple wants to restore iOS as well, upgrading my basebang. I am unlocker, so cannot let this happen. How can I restore my data without restoring iOS again?
