Apple May Release iPad 1.5 At Next Week's Media Event; iPad 2 Later This Year?
Folks at iLounge have provided some interesting details of what to expect at next week’s media event where it is widely speculated that Apple will unveil the 2nd generation iPad.
iLounge claims that according to their reliable sources Apple may not unveil the “real iPad 2” at next week’s event due to production problems and instead release a tweaked version of the current generation iPad.

Why can't iPad 1.5 be the iOS 4.3 with the release of the iPhone iOS 4.3 for once as well.

I find hard to believe that Apple will launch two ipad with only 6 months or less of difference. The competitors have already shown what they have for this year and it is predictable that they won't show any major improvement on tablets until beginning of next year.I think the “Come see what 2011 will be the year of” might refer to that possible gadget between ipod touch and ipad that has been speculated, we'll see. Anyway it is exciting this war between technology makers.

...to be a douche.Anyway, for us non-douches....I would find it highly unlikely they will be releasing multiple "generations" of the iPad in one year. That is very uncharacteristic of Apple and that isn't how they market any of their products. These websites are just trying to get pageviews with pointless and unfounded speculation.

There is a COMPLETELY new technology that is going to emerge in the computer world. I'm not going to begin to say what it's going to b called, but iPad"2" will not be showcased. It will b an iPad upgrade compared to what's coming. Sources in the know are currently working on perfecting this technology... Just watch, the iPad will be what the iPhone has become. Only it will take half the time (could b less). If u want an iPad or currently own a laptop and want an apple product, hold off n deal with what u have! It's all on the verge of change...

He is talking about Light Peak... aka as Thunderbolt technology released today on the new Macbooks.. this is a dual channel, bi-directional interlink technology that provides 10Gb/s of bandwidth to storage, ethernet, monitors and more.. one cable to rule them all! Developed by Intel (on Apple's insistence) and Apple expects it to defeat USB 3.0... that remains to be seen.Anyway, iPad 2 is rumored to have this technology added...
