Apple Unveils iPad 2; Thinner, Lighter, Comes With Faster 1 GHz Dual-Core A5 Chip, Cameras; Will Be Available On March 11th
Apple unveiled the second generation iPad - iPad 2 at today's 'Come See What 2011 Will Be Year Of' event.
iPad 2 is 33% thinner, 15% lighter than the original iPad, comes with the same 9.7 inch screen and features Apple's new dual-core A5 chip for faster performance and better graphics, front facing camera for FaceTime and PhotoBooth and a rear facing camera that captures 720p HD video.

Apple has not revealed the amount of RAM in iPad 2 but we expect it to be at least 512MB.

I'm disappointed. I have an iPad and I don't think it's worth upgrading. Normally Apple is far better than the competition, I don't think this will be the case with this iPad. This seems more like iPad version 1.5. Maybe the rumor of releasing another iPad in September is true.

So when is the unlock coming out....I think Dev team is tried of giving away free unlocks. Maybe they want $ they should just say it.... people will pay for it :) better then waiting

Exactly my point. I'm not going to spend $800 for a small upgrade. I'll wait for the next one. The only reason Apple did some of these upgrades is because of Android. I own all Apple devices; this upgrade is not impressive at all. If the Xoom gets rooted; iPad 2 is out the door. They didn't even upgrade the screen :( Icing on the cake would of been having the thunderbolt I/O port.

the dam xoom tablet doesnt have netflix still and it seems that the xoom has better specs which is shocking when will android get netflix seriously

It was cool to see Steve at the event..he still looks so thin but I hope he's winning the battle..As for me, I love my current ipad and will wait to get the ipad 3 which hopefully they'll release this year.

The smart cover is the best idea ever thought of if you are an idiot that doesn't want to protect your whole iPad. Scenario - Boy my new iPad 2 has absolutely no scratches on the screen because this smart cover is awesome but I'd better look for something to cover the back of the iPad because I can tell that Edward Scissorhands used it last! Now some smart idiot creates a smart back and now the iPad has two covers that makes it like a book. What the heck. I'm not buying that crappy invention!!!!!

I personally think the dongle is a load of crap since they should have made it so that everything is streamed through airplay. So your telling me that I can stream a video through airplay but if I want everything I do on my iPad on the screen I must purchase a device with a short cable................. KISS MY A$*!!!!!!!!!!

Not everyone will be able to airplay. And the dongle is $40 man! And for viewing everything you do on ur ipad via airplay, im sure the jailbreak/tweak ppl are on it.

You know there was a time when Apple actually included cables and remotes for free with everything you purchased. And now they thrive off of selling us every single piece of accessory as if what we purchased wasn't already overpriced!!!!!!!!

The Xoom will be rooted. And the iPad 2 is out the door how? I love everyone touting the Android crapware. iPad 2 will outsell the lot of them combined. Keep your eyes on those awesome Xoom numbers! Those things are sure to move. You know, with that awesome Honeycomb experience! ( Eyeroll accompanied with a protracted sigh )I own a number of Android devices, and let me tell you...The Android OS in all of its iterations happens to blow stinking fuzzy monkey balls.
