Apple Reduces First Generation iPad Prices By $100
Apple has reduced the prices of the first generation iPad by $100 on its Online store after unveiling the 2nd generation iPad – iPad 2 as it wants to clear its inventory.
This means that the entry level iPad – the 16GB Wi-Fi only iPad model is available for $399 and the 16GB Wi-Fi + 3G iPad model is available for $529.

that just dumb.... of course if you fork $400 for an ipad 1 , wait another week, get another $100 and go for the shiny new one....they should have slashed by 1/2....BUT i can see why they didn't, to make people go to ipad2 ....

for just $100 less for an old ipad.. i've better pay $100 more for the current one.....but for the half off price ill ill buy the old one

I think if you can't afford the new model then get the old one. It's an excellent device and great way to enter the Apple loving fray.However it might go down in price again, so maybe waiting is good. It just depends on your budget.
