Dev Team: Limera1n And SHAtter Exploit Patched In iPad 2; Will Delay iPad 2 Jailbreak
If you’ve picked up your shiny new iPad 2 or ordered it online and wondering if it can be jailbroken then we’ve some bad news for you.
Apple has patched the limera1n and SHAtter bootrom exploits in iPad 2, which will make it even more difficult to jailbreak iPad 2.
MuscleNerd, member of the iPhone Dev team broke the news via the following tweets first about the limera1n exploit and then about the SHAtter exploit:

Maybe some anonymous group could convince Apple to end their evil attack on the hardware owners.
-
Apple should stop and surren
-
where the hell unlock for 4.2.1 3.10.01 ? u promised guys..?
-
all we care is for iphone4
-
U want to find yourselfs lucky the dev teams try to find these exploits and don't charge you for them. I say well done to all the dev teams out there and that most of us really appreciate all your hard work :)
-
Also I dont ever recall an ETA being given, so as long as 1 is released then no promise (if that's what u want to call it) has been broken
-
The both of you need a Twitter account. That's where Muscle Nerd said they would release the unlock as soon as 4.3 came out. That is also where he said some things were patched and thus would lead to a delay.
-
Then I suggest you select "iPhone 4" from the menu at the top of the page.

So Aple has declared war on us the customers again. Dont they ever ask themselves why do we jailbreak, We certainly dont do it for fun we just want some simple things on our phones that people like Nokia users have had for years. Why do they not give us them instead of the silly cat and mouse games. In conclusion Apple are just abusing their customers and the way to deal with rhem is dont purchase. Let them have a warehouse full of ipad 2 and iphone 5 and when they aint shifting they might do something

Do anybody know these universal sims for unlock etc in eBay work? If so, which one? For example if I buy a prepaid at&t card (there are such cards on sale also) can I unlock my 3GS? They sell them for unlocking. Any advices?
-
or, any other, nonsoftware solution?
-
its only a matter of time...

I will patiently wait for the jailbreak, I'm in no rush. Someone always comes up with an exploits sooner or later. Thank you guys so much for doing this for the community!
-
Man that SHAtter exploit was really useful, good thing they saved it. I remember using it to jailbreak all of my devices. Or was that none of them I forget.

Guys like Geohot and groups like Dev team enjoy the cat and mouse game I would suspect, like a high level Sudoku. Producers have been putting locks on whatever since DOS was born and consumers have been hacking..... enjoy!
-
we will wait no matter how long it takes.. still waiting for the Dev-T34m
-
waiting for iphone 4 unlock .. can't wait longer.
-
Simple thing, Apple should sell unlocked phones, the end.
-
CAn't wait? then buy a factory unlocked one online.
-
Uh, they do, don't they? But people choose to buy locked ones because they're cheaper - and then complain to the jailbreak community when they can't unlock....people like me! (Except the last bit.) I'm happy I can jailbreak and unlock up to 4.2.1 now - I'll upgrade to an Android phone when my contract runs out to see if I have a better time there or not.

Maybe i'm thinking wrong but those great hackers code everything to find a bootrom exploit yadayada but can't they try to find a way to downgrade your bootrom like on the 3gs the new bootrom back to the old one. Or the ipad 2 downgrade it with the loop hole exploit back in?Just wondering why :)
