Apple Requests Toyota To Stop Jailbreak Ad Campaign
Few days back, ModMyI started distributing the Toyota Scion 2011 theme on Cydia for jailbroken iOS device users as part of an advertising campaign.
The theme looked quite cool and it was seen as an interesting medium to advertise. Many felt that the jailbreak ad campaign would help in legitimizing the jailbreak community.
However, ModMyI has just reported that Apple has asked Toyota to pull the jailbreak ad campaign.

Woot Toyota!
-
Why would Toyota need to be on apples good side? When would they ever do business?
-
maybe they want to include a ipad as the owners manual in the glove box like Hyundai.. also there are more and more cars starting to integrate ipad/ipod/iphone functionality built in
-
I'm hoping airplay will soon be incorporated into in-car-entertainment. Noe THAT would be pretty cool!

I didnt care for toyota 1 min ago but now I care for them even less. I hate when companies give in to other companies. why does toyota care there not making phones are they?
-
Sweet theme btw
-
What is the top bar icon between the alarm clock symbol and the battery percentage readout?
-
The phone is in silent mode
-
What if they made custom hardware like iphone backs with their logo on it?

Steve Jobs...... You can suck balls!!!

I just have one question, WTF was apple doing in CYDIA hmm the only way I know to get in is to have aJailBroken iPhone....uh oh Steve done slip , I knew he was rocken a jailbroke iPhone 4 , caught with your hand in cookie jar , bet that cookie tasted good lol

LMAO ^^^ This...

Manipulated dummies thats what they are, seriously...
-
The theme sucks ... Especially the icons

Most likely lookin for cool features to add in an upcoming IOS so they can bullshit about amazing new features they've added to their devices like tethering, hotspots, folders etc. One day they'll come up with the idea of Custom Themes, claim it as their own and flog it on crApp store. Get ready to cough up 30% Toyota lol

That ad is hot! Go Toyota!!! Nice to know someone there was thinking outside of the box.
-
Spoken like someone with no business sense or experience. Good job
-
well i think the jailbreak app developers should start to patent their apps then when jobsy boy releases a new os featuring one they can sue his ass!!! just a thought...

Even though your post is funny as hell, they were posted on a website ModMyI which is kinda a legit website to Apple. Now seeing Steve Jobs rocking a jailbroken iPhone, I'd pay money to see this since we know deep down, he's happy the jailbreakers are out there keeping his product in the media's eye.

The jailbreak bug is caught by everyone including TOyota.

Meh, I think 'tis all a proper PR campaign, as despite all the fighting Apple does agains jailbreaking, part of their customers come exactly because they're confident they can jailbreak and mod their iPhone as they like. Believe me, even if it'll get harder, Apple will always keep one tiny security loophole for jailbreakers to find and exploit.
