Untrackerd: Jailbreak Tweak Resolves iPhone Tracking Issue
Security researchers had revealed yesterday that iPhone and iPad 3G regularly tracks the location of your iOS device and records the co-ordinates along with timestamp in a hidden file.
If you are concerned that this is happening without your consent then there is a jailbreak tweak that cleans up the hidden file on a regular basis.

Awesome! A cydia app will fix it. That saves having to install the next iOS update and re-jailbreak etc.

I would actually like a tweak that could download the tracking data to a file on my PC and then erase it from my iphone ... it'd be quite interesting to look back on it myself - I just don't want anyone else to have that info (unless they bid real high for it, from ME directly!).

This is hardly likely to be GPS data has many people have the GPS turned off. It is more likely to be cell sites, hence the low resolution of the results. People are making a mountain out of a mole hill in my opinion. This kind of data is only accurate to a mile or so.

And who actually cares enough about where you've been to jack your phone and find out? I travel a lot for work and personally find it interesting to be able to view all this data.

It doesn't matter if it is perfectly accurate or not, the point is merely that Apply is secretly storing the data on the phone and you can't prevent the phone from doing it.It is obviously a HUGE deal since Apple also hasn't made any official statement. They know the f...ed up once again. Bring on the lawyers, I'd love to get some of their cash!

Can someone please confirm if this 'tracking' stuff its just for OS4.0+, im still on 3.1.3 (haven't felt the need to upgrade) but the Untrackered app only supports OS4.0+much appreciated.
