Earlier today, Apple responded to questions raised by about the iPhone and iPad 3G location tracking issue reported by Security researchers.
Apple has revealed that it plans to release a minor iOS software update – most likely iOS 4.3.3 in the next few weeks to address a bug in the way it manages the crowd-sourced Wi-Fi hotspot and cell tower database that is cached on the iPhone.

I hope that Apple will fix battery consumption on the iPhone 4 in next iOS update, battery was much better on iOS 4.1 and 4.2 versions

i disagree... i stream sirius on my i4 5-6 hours a day... battery life is identical on 4.3.2 vs. 4.2.1 vs 4.0.1 (i have logged battery percentages per hour up to 5 hours.. i am a little embrassed to admit it too)... i have noticed that streaming sirius from pocket tunes drains battery quicker vs. the sirius app (v.1.3.3)

I snapped a photo and it geo tagged it 20 miles away from where I snapped it was not fun exspaining to my wife the phone lied not me .... Like that's possible she said

I'm on 4.3.2 jailbroken on baseband 4.10.01. The data cache doesn't bother me. If all the update does is reduce the cache and encrypts it, I won't bother upgrading. I'll wait for iOS 5.As for the battery and signal, I haven't experienced any problems with either of them.

Your wife has serious trust issues. You should have apple update her firmware, maybe you'll get a new wife.

ISO 4.3.3 just another crap coming up. Why someone not make a different brand like Banana or Mango instead of Apple. However, anyone having any problem gevey simcard on ISO 4.3.1???

Not surprised. Won't take responsibility and will fix it with a software issue. From what I remember Apple/Steve Jobs is worried about privacy and what people, "stalkers," could do with this location data. Not only was it stored for a year without consent but it also wasn't encrypted and backed up on iTunes.

So now dev team will be busy with ios 4.3.3 jailbreak and unlock will again be put on the side.

Exactly. !!!!!!!

big fat liar company like it never tracked location

Does this update apply for other gen. iphones than 3Gs or iP4. Is it true that Apple sells all de collected location data to Homeland Security for intel analysis about flagged iphone users?Yesterday i saw a disturbing item about TomTom nav. in the netherlands, selling their collected data to the police so they can better determine where to stake the highest lucrative speed traps.

And the only access to the data is if you gave them physical access to your idevice or the computer running itunes

yes its true everyone is so concerned with what you do they are selling everything you do and reading your mind. go now and wrap your head in tinfoil

Ever since 4.2.1 my A2DP streaming and general Bluetooth connectivity has been extremely bad. Has anyone else experienced this?

why would dev team even bother to break this upgrade?
