Apple Releases Updated iMacs With Faster Quad-Core Processors, Graphics, Thunderbolt I/O Ports, FaceTime HD Camera
Earlier today Apple released updated iMacs with quad-core Intel Core i5 processors with an option to upgrade to Core i7 processors up to 3.4 GHz, new powerful AMD Radeon HD graphics processors, high-speed Thunderbolt I/O port/ports and an HD camera for FaceTime.
Apple claims that the new iMac is up to 70 percent faster and new graphics deliver up to three times the performance of the previous generation.
Apple had this to say about the new iMacs:

3.4! That's huge!!! lol. Crazy how fast technology moves.
-
Yeah, now I know where to spend $6G!!!!
-
Damn, I want the 27" imagine SC2 multiplayer on that :DAlso wonder if Crysis 2 will work with the graphics? Is it good enough or what?

Wow, apple finally putting decent graphic solutions to their all in one systems, I wounder if this is due to the fact that more developers are making more games for macs. But those mid ranged AMD 6000's graphics put out some heat, I wounder what cooling system they are using in such a confined space.

Are you kidding me?! it's 2011 already, and the new iMac still doesn't support Blu-ray drive?! What kind update is this?! I won't buy another iMac til they put the blu ray drive in it!!

@LeIt's all digital now, they are doing that because they are supporting iTunes (obviously.)Blu-Ray is already becoming outdated, as everything is digital now.People just want things faster, and it's faster to download/stream for Apple TV then it is to go and rent/buy a bluray movie

Please get the 30" display, will you?

Blu-ray is digital ... and incidentally, so are DVDs and CDs.

Isn't Crysis 2 PC, XBOX360 and PS3 only? Does Mac support DirectX 9?
-
Did they actually say which GPUs are going in? Which ones are mid-range? Would that be the HD 6800's or the HD 6700's. Hopefully the 6800's to run games smoothly at full HD resolution.

does mac support windows?

Ordered mine yesterday. 3.4 i7 with the SSD+2TB can't wait. Skimped on the RAM, I can get that cheaper elsewhere.

There is something call WINDOWS SUCKS. for mac. its a nice windows emulator. try it. a little glitchy but it works. and with the new graphics cards a mac could support dx 11. not just 9. AND my windows pc has a 3.6g quad core and im building a computer with a 6g 12 core. be amazed

RAM is always cheap

Sure they are digital bro but the medium they r stored on is "analog." simply because its a physical entity. by digital he means from the internet. but ya, totally hate renting, as easy as red box is. i dont even use my once a month netflix dvd, i just use the instantstream or torrents.
