Lockitron Allows You To Wirelessly Lock Or Unlock Your Door With Your iPhone
Y-combinator backed Apify has recently launched a solution called Lockitron that aims to replace your keys with your phone.
Lockitron is a combination of a web app and hardware kit that allows you to wirelessly unlock or lock the door with your iPhone or any internet enabled smartphone.

If I had $500 to waste I would forsure buy this, pretty sweet and a good way to impress your friends and to free up space on your keys! First I'm gonna buy the remote car starter, its been out for a while and costs $300 plus install unlock and start your car from anywhere with cell service, pretty tight I must say tho

So ok let me get this stright so the info you use is sent over the internet and stored on a server somewhere that someone will eventually hack and that will give them access to your house and you can have all of this for $300-$500 there not serious are they? That is almost lafable that would be like handing your keys to a total stranger and saying here I trust you with everything I have encluding possably my family!!!No I believe Ill continue to fumbel with my keys and security system.

However if this were a totaly lock phone based system, say playing a certian part of a song or s of tones from the phone to the locking system and it bin able to validate and unlock itself that would be diffent. I think they should come up with a hybrid system that would you use both phone tones and voice recognition as a means of unlocking the door.

So it uses normal keys for a back up in case power goes down? So ya still have to carry your keys. Think it would be better to have a keypad, face recognition that isn't tricked by a photo and a backup power source. Oh and no web connection.

LMAO, this is so stupid. Like some others I'll stay with my keys and for those who are thinking in getting it, make sure your phone never runs out of juice and your never leave it at work or in someone house... LOL... I'd love to see that happening so someone..LMAO.
