Seagate Unveils GoFlex Satellite - Mobile Wireless Storage For iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch
If you want additional storage for your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch then Seagate has released a nifty solution called GoFlex Satellite Mobile Wireless Storage.
GoFlex Satellite is essentially a portable HDD that can be used to store music, movies, TV shows, photos and documents, which connects to your iOS device or any Wi-Fi enabled mobile device so that you can access the contents using a free companion iOS app.

I think this would be better than cloud based. This way, you KNOW where your stuff is.

This will be a big flop. If you really need that much storage then get a 32gb iphone. I'm sure the next generation iphone will have a 64gb version. If you need more storage than that then get a life. And also **** the cloud. These greedy corporation want all our data stored on their servers? Why would anyone trust them? Then they'll start charging you for bandwidth and get rid all unlimited plans. **** them!

I was thinking this would be useful when stuck on long haul flights, but then I remembered that u stick ur phone in airplane mode killing the wifi connection.I still think it's a great idea though

Actually u can put ur phone in airplane mode but activate wifi, so I think this device would be very handy for travellers with no 3G connection

Ha. Good one.

Doesn't airport extreme work the same way for half the cost?

movies can be quite large. i've converted my movies to mp4 and a regular dvd movie is still 1-2 gb. take a road trip with family and if i can take my whole movie library and keep the kids busy, this is awesome! what do you mean get a life? not everyone lives in bars or dates online without ever meeting the girl. at some point we all need to grow up.

WTF! A month after the post of this and still can't get it. Worthless!! Best Buy, no. Office max, no. Screw it!

I've. Been toying with the iOS app to see if I can get it to work with a home router that allows USB storage to be plugged in.Then maybe a netbook could be used in place of the drive but still allow you to use the same app on the ipad
