Breathtaking Photos And Video Of Space Shuttle Endeavour Rocketing To Space Captured From Airplane Using iPhone
As we’ve noted before, you're more likely to have an iPhone with you to capture a moment than a digital camera.
That is exactly what happened with Stefanie Gordon who boarded a flight in New York City to visit her parents in Palm Beach. She has managed to take some breathtaking photos and a short video of the space shuttle Endeavour rocketing to space with her iPhone.

very cool.

She used a phone on an airplane and everyone on board didnt die.. Hmm interesting (assuming she didn't have it on airplane mode of course)

You can use your electronics on the plan while it's in the air. They only require you to turn it off during take off and landing.
-
They demand that you keep your cell pfine off during the entire flight
-
The iPhone has this magic switch called "airplane mode"
-
Most airlines allow you to turn your phone on when the aircraft is above 10,000 ft altitude. I flew on an airliner two weeks ago and that was the case.

this is once of the best pic i have ever seen it must be from iPhone 4 i guess or iPhone 5?? lolzz
-
That is iPhone 6 camera with 12 megapixel. the person who clicked it is an Apple employee testing the next generation device.
-
The reason they have you turn off electronics during takeoff and landing is because they can interfere with the altitude and cause the instruments to show that the plane is higher or lower than the altitude shown.
-
Pitty for the dirty windows on the plane :pNice pictures and it's always nice to see something historical like this, something to remind and tell your grandkids about :)"I saw the last flight of the space Shuttle Endavour from the sky!"
-
You can use electronic as was mentioned. The only time you can't use it is during take off and landing. But you must put your phone in airplane mode.
-
Which has never been shown to actually happen.

she said on her twitter account that she has a 3GS iPhone. i also have a 3GS for last 2 years and i know that it has a shitty camera. so i think there is no way she has took those pic's and video with a 3GS phone. may be she is another Apple fan. actually, in these days if u do some thing with ur idevice,(doesn't matter if u crack it, hack it, blend it or take a pic of Obama having an iPad)u will be famous soon. the airplane has to be hundreds of mile away from that zone so u guys go a head and take a pic or or make video of something from that far.

Cell phones disrupt airplane navigation: mythbusted. Modern planes are well-shielded enough to not be affected: Grant, Tory, and Kari handled the construction of a mock cockpit to see if cell phones could disrupt the navigational equipment. They eventually upgraded to a Hawker 800XP corporate jet, which they were unable to cause any interference with. Their busting showed that interference was possible, but only if the wiring wasn't properly shielded. http://tinyurl.com/22v3d3

Why would they launch with air traffic that close? Govt normally diverts all traffic at launch time.

That is s cool man

I bet this photo was shot from 20 miles away plus Earth's atmosphere is a big place and the Shuttle is heading away from them. The thing I cant believe is how those rocket boosters splash down in the Atlantic. Look out boats! lol
