RecognizeMe: Jailbreak App Brings Biometric Facial Recognition Security To iPhone
Jailbreak app developer Apocolipse has submitted a new app called RecognizeMe that brings biometric facial recognition security to iPhone.
RecognizeMe makes use of iPhone 4’s front facing camera to allow users to unlock their iPhone using facial recognition technology for enhanced security.
Here’s a brief description of the app:

I would love to see that kind of AI in iPhones and all Macs that have a front facing camera. (other computers, too, but we know who will be first.) The idea of sitting down at the family computer and having it automatically recognize me and swing my environment is exactly the kind of thing that makes computers assitants instead of idiot savants. If you want security, feel free to add passwords in addition to face recognition. If you want familiarity and "friendliness" that also has a touch of security, then support this idea.

I think I'll get it. I want Them to make one for Mac too.

Nice. Was this submitted to Apple and rejected or did the developer just go straight to Cydia with it knowing Apple would reject such a cool app? Just curious.

Among the many passwords and pins numbers we have to remember, this will be great for people who don't want to remember another code.

Charlie Sheen part gave me an idea. What if someone just held up a photo of the person who's phone it really is?

... it may very well be possible to do with a picture, but I tried with a picture of myself on my Macbook Pro screen and it wouldnt go through ...
-
not on cydia ?
-
Not on Cydia I search

Can you guys learn to read."Recognize will be available on Cydia for $6.99. It has been submitted to Cydia and should be available shortly."doesn't say "is" says "will be"
-
Can't wait for this. Will a new article be listed once it is added and I don't check Cydia every 5 mins?

lcd screens are a lot different to actual photograps (such as a drivers license), though seems it wont work as well in dark conditions (such as a night club) so i bet between 30%-60% you will take longer to recognise your face and let you in than type a 4 digit code, ifi t learns and records from its mitakes it would lower false positives...

It seems like you could take a pic of your friend, say it's just for contacts, and probably bypass which may sound easy but you might want to see the quality of taking a pic of a screen. Either way, it will most likely end up on sinfulliphone, xsellize, or beyouriphone repos. so don't pay

takes too long to recognize....no patience....slide to unlock it is
-
Awesome, now Apple might copy idea for iOS 5
-
looks cool.but i think the scanning time is too long.i'd prefer to use password which is much faster.
-
What if i dont want to use my face? can i use another part of my body?
-
Good idea. I think your hand would be unique and I don't think someone would have a picture of your hand (of a high enough resolution) to print.

beyouriphone is still up?
-
To expensive !!!!!!!
-
Available now. Too expensive.
-
would love to see that app get tested with identical twins
-
I wish you could use it on 3Gs. Possibly have it just make a noise when the recognition is successful or not since your face won’t be facing the lockscreen.
-
avail now!! $7 is expensive, but at least it's not $20 like myWi. Try it out for free first. It's avail.
