iOS 5 Features: Completely Revamped Push Notifications And Widgets?
Couple of days back, we reported that Apple’s PR team is inviting select UK journalists to attend the WorldWide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2011 that starts on June 6th. Electric Pig speculated that Apple is planning to unveil the next generation iPhone – iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S as the possible reason for the invitation.
But we had mentioned that the invitations could very well be for the launch of iOS 5, which is expected to be a major upgrade.

Requirements in iOS5 !1.change d notifications completely !2.better battery life than iOS 4.33.obviously improvised multi tasking , with a better look 4.short cuts or toggles for frequently used setting (eg.wifi)5.changing the look of lock screen , eg. An led type clock or some widget !Anything else guys ?? Just reply below , let's c ur thoughts ;)

ye you are rite android does have all this but with android you mite get 1 update than you have to spend another couple of hundred b4 just so you can get the new update...still alot of apps wont work on the newer updates not for getting if ur uing a device with a larger screen not all apps will work...security still has its flaws....

Just a software update is good for me. I agree with "Steve jobs", they should make the lock screen a little less prevalent so you can see more image, but then you wouldn't be able to see the time quite as well. A changeable multi tasking background would be cool, but just apple pictures and not your own (for right now).

Welcome the trolls. If I wanted an android, I wouldn't be on this site reading news about an iphone. What's the point of having a 4g capable phone with no service? When service is ready, surely there'll be a 4g iphone.

Holy balls, more advertising on iphonehacks.com?... i'm just amazed at how many advertisements this guy managed to cram on the start page... not even including the retarded mouse over advertisements. Anyone else thing it's getting a little bad on here? Before you know it, this guy will be forcing us to watch an advertisement to read each story... or the half paragraph length rumors that he's been passing off as news lately(this one is better then most). How much did you make off of us and our accidental clicks this week? I know, I know.... if you don't like it don't come to this site. I'm done.

Couldn't agree more. The one thing I'm really hoping for is 64 gigs and a dual core. Should help battery a tiny bit and make multi-tasking a bit faster.

I don't know about you guys, but I really want communication between iPhones and iPads! I want to be able to be notified on my iPad about a notification on my iPhone! Also I really want game centre data syncing! Because I do jailbreak, I sometimes have to restore my phone, but I never restore from backup because of it apparently killing battery life.. Well I want to be able to install the same apps on my phone again, and using my game center id I can continue my game where I left off .. That includes playing a game on iPhone and picking my iPad and continiuing it there :D

I agree with eskay...iPhone notification via Bluetooth on the iPad would be awesome. I see that webos is doing this with the pre3 and touchpad. Implementing half of what I can do with my jail broken phone with the stock iOS would be nice too :)

RETARD! Maybe the hole you live in doesn't get 4G service, but here in the real world it does exist. As far as Dual Core. By the time apple rolls out with Dual Core, something better is going to be coming out. I have a iPhone 4, I just grow tired of all these held back features. If apple cared for it's customers it would have implemented all these features years ago. Now apple is going to claim they were the first to do all this.

I live in the bay area, oakland to be exact. We don't have verizon 4g. Sprint 4g is slower than att 3g, tested and proved amongst friends. Speak with experience kid, don't blindly love something you don't even own.

I buy products based on what it can do for me and me only, not what it can do for others. I've tested speeds amongst friends in areas I frequent most. 4g is not available in this hole of mine and it's not a determining factor in my choice of hardware. You obviously have issues with your choice and satisfaction, otherwise you wouldn't have the need to come to an iphone hacking site to blabber nonsense. If you posted on an android site, I'm sure you'd have others cheering for you.

to android fans yes your phone is great and its really similar to an iphone and a matter of fact i can root android on a iphone if i want android i can simply have it on a iphone so stop talking about android cuz there almost identical some people really dont care for 4g cuz they care more for there battery life and some are happy with 3g and some dont jump to android cuz they lack of apps which is about 500,000apps cuz of cydia and some love the hacks that come with an iphone something u probably dont understand cuz u probably cant read the name of this website its called iphonehacks for a reason and yes there alot of great phones android,windows phone 7,samung galaxy s,and more but none of those phones hack like an iphone as of yet so chill out with the iphone insults and show a little respect for the company that made stupid phone to smart phone cuz u be using your razor phone still if it wasnt for them and steve jobs didnt put a gun to your head and made you purchase an iphone it is your choice and all companies are expensive and greddy and apple likes to give out more free updates then any other phone other phones gets 1 update every few months but apple gives updates every single month which shows support and love and the iphone took a long time to build to get to this level making so many tweaks,hacks,themes,porting, and some love there roms they got for there super nintendo and sega on there iphone some love there iporn app some older people just dont want to learn all over again and yes some people have android phones and still have there iphones cuz of these reasons and yes samsung makes android phones phones and makes some of the most important components Apple buys, including memory chips and displays. I'm sure you had some good points in thar essay.. somewhere.Anyway back to the actual article, I'm looking forward to the updates whatever they are. I just hope the 3GS is supported as I don't know how many upgrades I can afford this year! Apple tv and iPad 2 already.. :s

I really think these updates are going to come at a price, most likely instability being in time critical applications and less ram for running programs. No wonder the 3GS is being dropped. I just hope we can turn off these features and keep the speed!

IOS 5 must support video call on mobile operators telephone network instead of Wi-Fi. iPad must support telephone calls (both voice and video). Blackberry type features for email notfication

Please let them finally implement "Album Artist" as a sorting catagory. Every other mp3/aac/flac/ogg (whatever) music player I ever heard of supports it, whether hardware or software, even the iTunes software on the computer supports it. The "Compilation" solution is useless in my opinion. This is my absolute biggest gripe with the iDevices.
