iOS 5 Wish List
Apple will unveil its next generation iOS – iOS 5 at next week’s WorldWide Developer Conference 2011.
As we’re getting closer to the event, rumors about the new features in iOS 5 have started trickling in and some folks have even created cool concept videos and presentations to show us how Apple should implement the features.
We also got the hint that it’s high time we came out with our iOS 5 wish list.
So here’s our iOS 5 wish list:
1. Customizations:

I really just wish that you can change the home screen layout. PS first baby!
-
NFC Chip!
-
pretty great list I agree would like to see all of that stuff in the new OS. If they really want to crack down on JBing which i doubt they care as much. You pack in everything on this list and most of the reasons to JB arent needed anymore.
-
That would surely make it our fifth generation iPhone wish list.
-
It is too late to wish something
-
Only hopefully, but never comes true. i agree them all.
-
NFC Chip
-
again its a Software not a hardware upgrade, they can't magically send you a nfc chip through itunes lol
-
i dont think there is any point of bringing adobe flash in iphone
-
This list is pretty close to what I already have on my Windows Phone.
-
Wow. That's a pretty lame list. FM Radio? For real? For the 2 users who care?Much of the list is "android+google"I'm hoping Apple is thinking a bit beyond that. Catch-up is a lame place to be.(I use iPhone and Nexus-S, daily. IMHO, iPhone is marginally better (if jailbroken) in about 90% of the use cases I have. The Nexus-S is better in about 10%.iPhone has better battery life, GUI (face it), camera.app, phone.app, app market (marginally), touch sensitivity, and is more stable.Nexus-S has better data sync (by far - when using google), better backgrounding, management (power, app, memory), map.app, navigation, and search.Wash on screen, image quality, range.)

3GS support!!!
-
They better include 3GS support!!!
-
Sorry for double post. Site effed up my ****.

and also add an Update to the iPod app so we can create smart playlist based on ratings, number of plays, and the iPod settings in the iPod app. Also needed, major improvement in the notes app so notes can be categorized or put into folders or color coded, and sort them on criteria other than just modified date
-
No carrier lock!
-
Dev team have created new ios5 for the iphone 5 ...it could be installed on ipod touch 4 gn ?plz send me an email dev m8
-
Agree, the iPod app def needs an update. What's the deal with having to go to the more section just to view music as albums (tha **** should b default).. Have they fixed it so it syncs ratings and play counts etc wih itunes yet? Haven't check that in a while. I know there was a workarond tha i neva got around to...I guess with icloud coming in it will have to have some kind of update...

You got a point about no longer needing to jailbreak, but if anything there will be tons more ideas out there for jailbreakers! If iOS 5 does get most of these features, I can't wait to see how hackers can improve them with jailbreaking!
-
NFC chip, no carrier lock,
-
The 2 things Apple needs to do are a)Give free access to the file system(remove the need to jailbreak) and b)Unlock anyone's iPhone who asks for it. Watch my words, one of these days this will be done as the outcome of a class action law suit.Beyond these, half or more of the stuff on this list should be left to developers to make, so iOS can continue to be a profitable platform for the little guy. The operating system should operate the system, nuff said.
-
I agree that if apple start implementing these features it will cut down the need to JB but from apples perspective, adding some of the requested features like photo album management is not good. Their main income is not from selling the device but from selling apps. If they add these features for free, they kill hundreds of apps and the money that these aps generate. Wouldn't you agree?
-
Um...how about being able to send e-mail to a distrubution list?
-
I agree about letting developers make a living. But then Apple has to lift many of the restrictions they have about what third party programs cannot do.
-
3gs support or im going android
-
Ability to see Unread emails from a particular folder in email.app. Stop this double
-
Aws band.
-
I already have them on my iPhone 3GS!! Only reason to upgrade phone, not iOS platform, may be aesthetics.
-
13. Better Bluetooth Support:Ability to transfer files with other Bluetooth devices.16. FM Radio
