Google Renews Partnership With Apple; Confirms Maps App Will Use Google's Maps Data In iOS 5
Last week, we had heard rumors that Maps on iPhone may continue to use Google’s map data in iOS 5.
Google’s Chairman Eric Schmidt has confirmed it in an interview at AllThingsD’s D9 Conference yesterday. He revealed that Google has just renewed its Map and Search partnership with Apple.
Eric Schmidt said:
"We just renewed our Map and Search agreements with Apple, and we hope those continue for a long time."

I would like to know what is "googlae's"?

I'm sorry but why would anyone want Google Navigation over Tom Tom, Navigon or Co-Pilot. This is the kind of talk I hear from people who are yet to use Google Navigator! It is as good as useless without a good 3G connection. Caching your journey is not nearly good enough, and show me a country that has good nationwide 3G coverage?

3G is a must for Google navigation, eats lotsa data too.

Why use 3g? Caching not enough?Ummm trapster is awesome and that uses 3G connection, caching you can set at home or where ever when bored. No problems at all!So that would mean no problems for googles app either...So what is your point? The data use? Load up cache before you leave.... When you can't it still loads relatively good on edge as well.I think it would be awesome personally!

You only need 3G if you are traveling more than 50 miles or so, until then all you need is GPS. I still use GPS HD drive or beatthe traffic because both give more relevant info.I guess this also means Apple abandoned having its own mapping system.
