iH8sn0w has just released a new version of Sn0wbreeze – v2.8 beta 2 for iOS 5 beta that supports an untethered jailbreak for iPhone 3GS with older bootrom.
iH8sn0w had released Sn0wbreeze 2.8 beta 1 few days back to jailbreak iOS 5 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

i think its useless to install Sn0wbreeze 2.8 Beta 2 because iOS 5 is developers only version... we should wait for the public release of the iOS 5 final version.!

Ih8sn0w is a rising star, he is going to give the DEV team a run for their money in the future. With that being said, I will wait for the final IOS 5 release before trying any jailbreak. Thank you ih8sn0w for the Verizon iPhone IOS 2.8.1 jailbreak. Your Snowbreeze tool is getting better every day.

I'm no expert, but this makes sense to me. It seems it would be better for these teams to hold off from publishing info about successes of jailbreaking ios5 until ios5 is publicly released. Dunno.
