Verizon Tiered Data Plans Leaked; Starting At $30 For 2GB; Coming July 7th
Back in March, Verizon Chief Financial Officer Fran Shammo had revealed that it plans to discontinue its unlimited data plan for iPhone users as early as mid-summer.
Folks at Droid Life have just reported that Verizon will move to tiered data plans as early as July 7th for new customers.

well was thinking about making the jump to Verizon cause my service where i just moved sucks. But I will stick with my unlimited data plan before i pay that much more to be able to use the amount of data i want

I was considering the change as I don't get good signal from ATT, it looks like Verizon will get to use a 4g iPhone faster once avalable & to save some cash as the family is with Verizon but im not giving up my unlimited data as 4g & up will end up consuming more data as I will be able to do more in the same time with a faster network. And wtf with not being able to tether my data that I pay a preium for without giving up my unlimited & having to pay more?? Don't any of these companies realize that better service leads to better profits?

Too expensive. Even in India, which has just started 3G network, we pay like $15 for 2GB of data.

So giving away more services for less money is going to give them more profit?You statement has a little bit of merit, yes there is a balance that gives them the maximun profit but I am sure you're not the CEO of any carrier nor will you ever be with a stupid comment like that.

If you don't like AT&T there are other networks out there. We aren't in Cuba or North Korea.

umm what does this have to do with Cuba or NK? Our network providers suck here in the US. We basically have two choices. ATT and Verizon and they are both greedy ahole companies who decided to screw over their customers.

I'm just trying to figure out if these dudes have meetings to discuss how they want to screw over their customers. I'm having high hopes that Sprint will be the last company standing with their $69.99 unlimited everything. If they get an iPhone next year and don't change their tactics like Verizon, they might well be the dominate iPhone carrier in the US. But like I said, this is wishful thinking, they might become just as greedy and screw us over too

Can't they just give us 5GB for $30 and leave it at that? Most "Unlimited" data plans have a 2 or 5GB soft cap anyway.

Man, I've been waiting for my renewal time in Dec to switch to an iPhone and they do away with the unlimited plan! Greer!
