iOS 5 Beta 2: Apple Tweaks User Interface Of Lock Screen Notifications
Apple has made a number of changes in the way notifications are handled on iOS devices in iOS 5 and it continues to tweak the user interface in the beta versions.
In iOS 5 beta 1 notifications were displayed as a list on the Lock screen, you could and can act on them by dragging the icon to unlock and be taken directly into the app. However, in iOS 5 beta 2 Apple has chosen to fall back on the iOS 4 mechanism of displaying notifications giving focus only to the latest notification.

Shouldn't that second picture say "Meeting with the Bobs"?
-
I wasn't aware of a meeting with them...
-
you mean "boobs", not "bobs" xD

new design is ugly. prefer the way beta 1 worked!

I prefer the way beta1 handled notifications. It makes the iPhone look more of a business phone
-
And by the way, the high resolution of the display makes the text crispy clear, no mater the size. More notifications = better, big text doesn't take advantage of high resolution

I hope they go back to the beta 1 style.

i second that notion

I agree, liked beta 1 notifications better. Other than that, beta 2 rocks. Beta 1 was unacceptable in a business environment, (read: Exchange email). I downgraded my beta 1 back to 4.3.3 4 times, but I kept going back. Personally I love the status screen banner when you're in an app like Safari, etc. Like eAlert but better. I wish the lock screen had Intelliscreen's interface, much better. But, these are big strides and I'm happy pretty much. And now my Exchange Tasks sync, too cool. Next is Notes I hopeRegards,Steven

It looks to me like it pops a bubble on the lockscreen, then shortly moves it over to the list. But while unlocked, it only pops a small message at the top of the screen.

I prefer the beta 1 notifications - much more useful to have them at a glance without having to fiddle with the lock screen.
-
Definitely prefer beta 1.... Hope they finally go with that option.

LOL, the Bob thing is hilarious. Apple is witty!
-
I bet they'll allow users to choose, like they do in message previews

I use the alarm every day. I like the new bigger snooze button. It's much easier to press when you are barely awake. I wish they would change change the notifications back to the beta 1 style , but make the alarm snooze large like beta 2.
