Notification Center Now Shows Upcoming Calendar Events In iOS 5
Developers continue to discover new changes in iOS 5 beta 2 that was seeded to developers of iOS developer program late last week.
We've already seen Apple enabling Wi-Fi sync feature for Mac users, tweaking the user interface of Lock screen notifications, that hasn't gone down too well with our readers, new first boot animation and ability for developers to implement native style momentum scrolling in web apps.

I figured that would have been standard anyway. I actually thought we had already seen that. Guess it might have been another JB tweak

More talk about an upgrade that's not avalable yet to distract from the fact that there is still no updated iPhone
-
you mean like the one(s) that are going to be produced in August?
-
its call LOCKINFO look it up in cydiahttp://www.lockinfo.net/

Is that the alert for calendar event or calendar event itself?

Love this feature... Currently use something similar on my BB via a Today skin. Find it very useful while going thru meetings for the day etc

I was wondering about that. Calendar notifications are essential if this lock screen is going to be really useful.I currently use Lockinfo and find that 2 day's calendar events is plenty.Everybody's needs are different so I hope Apple provide the option to allow more than 24 hours of future events.

I'd say a full weeks worth should be possible, not just 24 hours. Make it fully variable: up to 7 days ahead, in increments of 1 day, and/or 15 appointments in increments of 3; each limit should be independent of the other and possible for both to be used.

Forget this, launch the new iPhone guys, will you!

Agree - these 'enhancements' really should have been standard features long ago. How has apple managed to stay so popular for so long without them? Is it just because consumers knew no better? (and/or likely other hardware/software vendors and platforms aren't doing any better?)
