iPhone 4 Camera Used to Capture Guitar String Vibrations
Even though the iPhone 4 camera might not take photos with the highest number of megapixels, it is one of the best smartphone cameras available. It is also the most popular camera on Flickr and has an impressive lineup of photography and video editing apps, which makes it an effective point-and-shoot camera replacement. Guitarist and iPhone user (YouTube user name - justkylevids) wondered what would guitar strings look like when seen through the iPhone 4 camera.

With new iPhone models, its only going to get more advanced than this!

Just for the record the reason the iPhone is the most popular camera on Flikr is that people with better cameras will not use it, due to the fact that Flikr takes ownership of your pictures (read the fine print on the terms and conditions). You are much better off using a paid site if you use nicer cameras.

looks really cool

Looks like a nice fake to me :-)Need to investigate more on this.Clue is tha a string does not vibrate like an audio wave, at least not on the same scale. Sinus shoukd be a lot longer than what is shown here......What do you think?Even if fake it is trully nicely done !!!

Confirmed after a seco,d look, it's a fake. When inserting the phone, stings are shining,When staring plying, strings are plai. Black, so is the hand. Hand is in sthe lighs so it should be sisible with shades. One more fake proof is the fact tha the phone is dumped in the guitar with no cushion. Bass string should make it vibrate on the wood and create a distinctive "brrrrr" sound. Also add to that a pseudo scientific reason for the magic to happen and all geeks fall for it. If it was true shutter speed should be in the 1/100000sec or less range so capture a vibrating string or use a storboscope.Well tried but I ain't falling for that :-)))))

You realise this is a *DEFICIENCY* of the iphone camera, Fasboy-the-fanboy.Despite that, I'm glad, because it makes a cool effect. I got a similar effect on my iphone3gs when I took photos of the turboprops on an F-27 (that's a propeller engine on a passenger plane) out the window and similarly got a fascinating pattern.
