Apple Testing Retina Displays For iPad From Samsung And LG
MacRumors (via The Korea Times) reports that Apple is currently testing LCDs made by Samsung and LG that support quad extended graphics (QXGA), a display resolution of 2048×1536 pixels with a 4:3 aspect ratio to provide full high definition (HD) viewing experience.
It is being speculated that Apple could finish testing the Retina Displays for iPad in time for the launch of the second iPad model later this year.

So Apple buys retina displays from Samsung but the two companies are suing each other patent issues related to the iPhone/Droid. Oh those wacky corporations!
-
So a HD iPad cant come this September for sure.
-
it will definitely annoy me

Thats what I was thinking! It also confuses me that if samsung make the retina displays, why don't they use them in their phones/products?
-
I'm already annoyed by just the speculation.

If Smasung sell their QXGA diplays to Apple, they've made confirmed sales. If they stick them in their own Android tablets, they still have to get some mug in a shop to buy it before they can recoup their costs. Android tablets aren't taking off yet, unless and until they do, Samsung will be happy to keep flogging displays to Apple.

I'm annoyed by the limitations Apple will inevitably put into their newer products.
