Mac OS X Lion Now Available In Mac App Store
As expected, Apple has released Mac OS X Lion via the Mac App Store. Mac OS X Lion is the eighth major release of Mac OS X.
Mac OS X Lion includes a number of features inspired by iOS on the iPad like multitouch gestures, App Store, App home screens with iOS 4 folders, full screen apps, auto save, apps resume when launched.
Apple had given a sneak preview of their new version of Mac OS X at Back to Mac event in October 2011.

downloaded at 847am EST. done downloding at 916am.took from 916 to about hmm 1020 (?) or so to install. 3 restarts. 33 mins for the actual install. seems ok.. lol..the new mail is good.. love launch pad!!still gotta play with it more

Glad to hear that it's going to be available on separate media. Too bad it costs more to do it that way. I can see people reloading a Snow Leopard retail disc just to download Lion. A fresh install is needed sometimes. I personally have 3 hackintosh computers running 10.6.8. It will be interesting to see how far I get after downloading Lion from Mac App Store. Thank goodness for time machine restore :)
