Apple Starts Test Production Of A6 Processor With TSMC For Future iOS Devices
Taiwan Economic Times reports that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has started trial production of Apple's A6 system-on-chip, which is expected to power iOS devices like the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch that will be launched in 2012.
Apple's current generation dual-core A5 chip powers iPad 2 that was introduced earlier in the year and expected to also power iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5G that should be launched later this fall.
