AT&T Installing LTE Equipment in Apple Retail Stores - Is Apple Getting Ready To Launch 4G LTE iPhone 5?
Yesterday we had reported that Apple has already started testing 4G LTE-enabled iPhone with carriers.
Engadget has just reported that they've received a photo, which reveals that AT&T has recently installed LTE network equipment in one of the Apple Retail stores.

Let's wait for the att and tmobile deal to go through first. It would how ever be a big boost for verizon..

Everyone else released 4G before the network was ready so I don't see what is holding Apple back. As a matter of fact, 4G is still not ready!!!!!!!!!
-
As long as it's not a battery killer. My brother has an HTC Android phone and if he's on 4G, the entire battery drains in like 90 minutes.

How i hope its true, but sadly its not!

Yeah. don't think this will be happening anytime soon. there could be any number of reasons why AT&T is having this equipment installed and none have to do with the iphone. It' be nice, but I give it a .000001% chance of actually happening.

It's a done Deal!

iphone 5 should be pretty sick. hopefully the internals will be comparable to the other android phones. like the Atrix or LG Thrill

Please give us some of those "any other reasons" why AT&T be installing 4G LTE equipment in an Apple store if it didn't have anything to do with the iPhone?
-
This is exactly why apple is holding back. Because it's not ready, they won't release something that isn't ready, they've had enough bad press lately. iPhone 4 'death grip'. Atv2 download faults after the 4.3 update, White iPhone 4 taking so long.

Most networks in the uk are still well behind on the 3G side of things, let alone 4g! O2 barely has signal, vodafone always has strong signal, but rarely 3G.

I thought this was iphone hacks.. Not iPhone 5 rumors.

Anything Iphone, /from the latest to the greatest//( { } ),

The iPhone 5 took so long because of a little hiccup called an earthquake in Japan why are people stupid

I do not care about 4G. Even iPhone 5 can support 4G LTE, I is not suppoted in my city and work place. And, it is hard to expect AT&T will install 4G system in my city within this year.
-
This would be a good move for everyone in my opinion. On another note, I'm curious when iOS5 will be available for iPhone 4.

I hope the new iPhone will be a world phone also on Verizon. High spending international travelers will exit AT&T in droves since the domestic coverage is so horrible. Recently on a trip to Zion National Park, AT&T had absolutely zero coverage. Believe it or not, we had to use our friend's Sprint phone.

Just because the nationwide LTE network infrastructure is not ready certainly has nothing to do with the iPhone 5 not being ready. They have been doing this long enough to pull off technology implementation without worldwide infrastructure.
