Starbucks Giving Away Premium iPhone Apps For Free With a Latte
More than three years ago, Starbucks started giving away iTunes "Pick of the Week" cards to U.S. customers to promote its partnership with Apple and the Wi-Fi Music Store. The gift cards can be redeemed for a free song for that week from Apple's iTunes Store.
CNET reports that Starbucks has also started offering free apps from the App Store using the same "Pick of the Week" gift cards.

I'm actually surprised to come across this. I work as part of the Starbucks team but in the uk so it's a bit of a delight to see my fellow company give away apps for free. But I ask my self, why don't users just use **** :S
-
cause some people don't actually jailbreak their ipods/iphones
-
**** is for trying out apps, and deciding if they're worth paying for later. At least for me. Some people are actually honest.
-
Yeah that's you guys choice to waste your money in some app you won't use much. I'm always switching phones so I don't bother paying for something I'll only use once. I respect apple and they're teams for creating such good apps but I rather not buy something ibknow I can get for free

jdb,Good call. The initial intention of the creators of **** and the resulting constituents was to correct a major flaw in the app store. There are some very crappy applications that offer no recourse if you purchased their software and then dislike it. Not to mention the apps that grossly misrepresent the applications function or form. As for myself I find it important to pay for the applications that I actually use. Cheers to you and whomever else that make am conscious effort to keep things honest.

Yes, you should buy them bc it's a big pain to update using ****. But it's great to try them out FO FREE!!!

Smart marketing by Starbucks!
-
So have digital goods like apps started replacing physical commodities?
-
You worthless fucktards, we are talking about a few bucks for an app.I jailbreak my phone and still pay for the apps both appstore and cydia because they are worth it. If I don't like the app ..big deal.. a few bucks.if you cant bare the loss of a dollar for an app then get a fucking job.if you can find an app worth your the chump change you make then quit downloading **** like iFart...

Starbucks has to do something to get people to drink there crap they call coffee, worst coffee ever. and a free app would not get me to buy one.
-
or i would say some people are dumb
-
I think I'll wait until they start offering free iphones. Hell, I'd settle for a 3gs. lol
-
Oh gosh. If it wasn't for ****, i wouldn't have bought half the apps I own. First, I used this app to steal apps, (yes I admit it) but every time there's an update, I lose the apps. But I didn't left unsatisfied. I did try them as demos so why not buy them? Now with iOS 5 coming out, I don't have the need to jailbreak and I will have those worthy apps installed!

lmao you guys are so gay. lots of **** tards up in here go on like they know you.
