App Log Reveals Apple is Testing Dual-Mode CDMA / GSM iPhone 5
Currently, we have different iPhone 4 models for GSM and CDMA network. It is widely speculated that Apple's fifth generation iPhone will be a dual-mode iPhone, which works on CDMA and GSM networks.
Verizon CFO had also stated that they will offer iPhone 5 at the same time as AT&T, which will also work in as many countries as AT&T's iPhone, which has global coverage, almost confirming that Apple's next generation iPhone will be a 'world phone'.

I don't think most of the readers really care about it being a world phone as much as the features the iphone 5 going to have .....BTW FIRST SUCKERS LOL

does this means we will be able to use it with T-mobile .U.S.A thanks if some one know the answer

Yes. It'll mean phone will have GSM network ability together with CDMA and most importantly don't forget ATT and T-Mobile is merging so there will be ATT and Verizon ......soon enough

For apple to have duel bands it only benefits Verizon. In a sense that people won't be stuck using ATT carriers and have little more choices on the plan selections. Also people who travels aboard now won't mind using Verizon services, cause it can be used on GSM network. Finally, thanks to Apple. In my opinion, Verizon and Sprint really needs to wake up and go with the world. Who uses CDMA anymore? GSM are way more convenient. Go to a foreign country put in a pre-paid sim and use. Keep it, use it again next time you visit. How nice is that? CDMA? Are they stuck in the 90's?
