Apple To Release iOS 5 To Assemblers In Late September; Suggests iPhone 5 Launch In Mid-October
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who earlier claimed that iPhone 5 will be similar to iPhone 4, has also informed AppleInsider that Apple will be releasing the golden master version of iOS 5 to manufacturing partners during the timeframe of September 23rd through 30th, suggesting that iPhone 5 will be available by mid-October.

It doesn't make sense. Uploading iOS to iphone takes forever and they have to do in millions. Then shipping from China to USA takes 3 weeks (unless airfreight). Then distribution in USA. So it'll be at least early Nov to be available to consumer.
