Valeo Park4U Remote Control App Allows You To Park Your Car With An iPhone
We've seen a lot of cool things that can be done with the iPhone, but this has to be one of the coolest.
Automotive equipment maker Valeo demonstrated an iPhone app at the 2011 International Motor Show in Frankfurt last week that will allow you to park your car.

Wow. That's cool how it displays video of the ground.. I'm assuming that's coming from cameras on the vehicle. Of course, I'm alway terrified when parking my VW that close to other cars.

u do if ure parking ure car in a really small space and then u need to get out and not bumping the next car, as the vid clearly shows, in case u havent noticed :P

First this is a Touran, not a VW Sharan. And why should I get outside the car to let it park itself? You can stay simply in the car and let it do the steering without any extra devices or apps. I have a Sharan with Park Assist and even an iPhone, and this is what I definitely don't need. Makes no sense.

IN the case of this video, how would you stay in the car and park it in that spot? Sure you could park it yourself just fine without the app, but what are you going to do climb out the sunroof?I have a ford escape that has park assist. Good feature for parallel parking, but as another user said, if you only leave 22 inches of space front and behind the car, guarantee someone is going to be banning the paint off your bumpers to get out of their spot.

if you park so closely to other cars, how will the other people get into their cars?nice tech, but if there's no room to get out, its useless unless every other car in the world uses it.

The way I see it is if you can't park a car you shouldn't be driving one. And anyone that parks one that close to another car deserves to be towed.

First of all, if I had a nice shiny car like that, I would definately NOT park it in such a narrow parking spot. You just cannot trust other people in the way they open their doors beside your car.As what others have said, if you were still inside and parking it, how would you squeeze out of such a tight car space? You're just asking for it in my opinion. ;)Other than that, it's a great concept but I'm not one to trust a piece of software to park a very expensive car. I'd like to be in control of the vehicle.

CLEARLY this is just begging to get your car scratched/dented/dinged by others who lack the technology and your "smart" car blocked them in, and also receive a "you park like an asshole" ticket.

Maaaan....why can't someone invent an app that wipes my ass for me because I'm too lazy to wipe it myself, let alone park my own car. Such a burden!! NOT.
