Amazon Holding Media Event On September 28th; To Launch Android Based Kindle Tablet?
AllThingsD has just reported that Amazon has just sent out invitations for a media event next Wednesday, September 28th. The invitation does not provide any details or clues about the reason for the media event.
But it is being widely speculated that Amazon will unveil its rumored Android-based tablet at the event.
MG Siegler of TechCrunch who had a chance to play with Amazon's tablet earlier in the month had this to say:

Yes. I think the new Amazon tablet will steal away some market share from iPad. iPad's strength is the huge selection of games while Amazon's advantage is the big collection of ebooks. The latter will help Amazon gain a footing in the market. What will be interesting to see if whether Amazon can also grow in the videos, games and the apps market spaces also.
