iPhone 5/iPhone 4S Launch Date - October 14th; iOS 5 Release Date - Oct 12th?
Based on previous lag times between unveiling and releasing a new iPhone or iPad, we had predicted last week that if Apple unveils iPhone 5 at a media event on October 4th (which was a rumor at that time) then it could be available as early as October 13th or October 14th.

People will believe what they want to believe. It comes down to the user experience which I think Apple has done right. If you think the android devices are better, you should really try them out for yourself. That's the only way to know.I doubt Apple is concerned about trying to outdo their competitors in pure hardware specs. They're about creating a great product that works well and tailors to the majority of the general public. I'm a techie, but even I don't want to tinker with my phone every day. I expect it to just work and so far, Apple hasn't let me down.I run into alot of people in my everyday life who use and prefer android. Not only that, but they also try to convince me that my iphone is inferior to their android device. I know how ignorant that is, but I don't waste my time trying to argue. I just tell them, they have their preference and I have mine. And from my own personal experience, I choose Apple. Now if only the android guys would get that through their head, that we don't care what they think. Get the device you want, and be happy with it.

Why this much secrecy, build up and media coverage if it was only an upgrade to the iPhone 4? Doesn't make sense. Given all the pomp, I can't imagine that Apple isn't rolling out a brand new product. I'll be buying the iPhone 5 the day it becomes available.

I have 3 lines that have been out of contract since January. I'm hoping they'll have enough supply to meet the demand. I will be ordering two online. There's no way I'll go stand in line for it. Hopefully, their servers don't crash like last year.

If it doesn't have 4G LTE then the upgrade from iPhone 4 is not worth it just yet

4g isnt perfected yet so I dont why people are are wanting it, not even 3g is 100% perfect.But on the side note I cant wait for the new update for my ipod touch

What if the whole "1" notification on the phone means they are only releasing one iPhone?? Just like how the invitation shows the date it's scheduled on the calendar??

Clock is at 10. Calendar says Tuesday/4. October 4th. K. Now that pesky 1 on the phone icon could be referencing the new assistant feature as in "let's talk, iPhone." You know like let's talk to the iPhone.

I hope they release a factory unlock soon after the iPhone 5 for carriers :)
