Apple Pulls Original Siri App From App Store
Now that Siri has finally been integrated into the iPhone 4S, the standalone app Apple chose to keep alive even after Siri's acquisition has been pulled off the App Store. Taking down the app obviously means that present iPhone owners won't be able to experience the game changing AI technology behind the app.
If you still have the app on their homescreens, when you launch it you would be greeted by a message saying:

that is bad! i can't try it now!

I'm guessing Siri is not part of ios5 on iphone4? So the only way to try it is iPhone4 users now have to upgrade to 4s??

yep! but hopefully someone from the jailbreak community can port it over to the iphone4... however i wonder if its performance will be hindered by the A4 processor...

I take it siri app was free? Otherwise people have paid for an app they can't use, will they be refunded? I personally never tried it as I always thought speech recognition apps were to inaccurate, until apple demo'd at there event the other day.

I'm not sure on the reliability of this info, so don't take it as gospel, but a friend of mine says most of the processing for Siri is done in the cloud. If that's true, then the A4 should be able to handle it without issue.

It was a free app and its performance certainly doesn't warrant an upgrade to 4s

Apple is smart, you cant pull an app like that, its so wrong.

Do we necessarily need a port? Or couldn't we just use an old ipa/**** to get it? I have no idea so that's why I'm asking :D
