Untethered Jailbreak For iOS 5 May Be Released Soon
If you were planning to skip jailbreaking iOS 5 because currently only a tethered jailbreak available then there is some good news for you.
iPhone hacker - Stefan Esser - better known by his Twitter handle - i0n1c seems to suggest that we could soon see an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 soon.

when ios 5 is released, will there be an unlock with it?? whats the latest on the unlock situation??? guess i will just wait until nov and buy a factory unlocked one for $$649

The coming untether jailbreak will not support the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4S, there is not exploit for those 2 devices yet as far as I know. Sure there will be an untether jailbreak for iOS 5 but not compatible with iPhone 4S and iPad 2. You guys got to wait a bit more.

my ipad 2 has been jailbroken on 4.3.3 as well and been loving it ever since... but by the looks of iOS 5 it would be so sweet running jb on it. Cant wait for all this to take place and get my hands on the 4S as well :D

So the iOS 5 jailbreak will work on iPhone 4 running iOS5 but not on iPhone 4s runnng iOS 5?

I will not consider buying iPhone 4S until a working jailbreak is going to be released for it (Whether it is tethered or untethered). My iPad 2 on iOS 4.3.3 could also wait a little bit longer.

I hope the fine jailbreakers hold back the jb for IOS 5 for a while, as no doubt there will be bugs and point releases will be forthcoming in the following weeks. Why give Apple a chance to quickly plug the hole?

I have just ran iOS 5 on a 3gs. I am using a tethered jailbreak. In all honesty, I think all the talented people that write third party apps and all the jailbreak code, made my 4.3.3 3gs better than it is now! Everything Apple throws at you guys, you chuck it straght back. Good work chaps!

The ios 5 unlock was released today i download it and try and it worked fine with my iphone 4 running ios 5. you can get it @ devteamjailbreakdotcom

Ive been running a tethered jailbreak for ios5 for a couple of days now, and I seriously can't wait for the untethered reassess! I hope the devs keep up the amazing work they're doing!!
