Apple TV Software Update 4.4 (iOS 5) Adds AirPlay Mirroring, Photo Stream, NHL, WSJ
It's been a busy day for Apple, they have also released release another software update: Apple TV software update 4.4 (essentially iOS 5) for the second generation Apple TV.
They've added support for a host of new features, such as Photo Stream, AirPlay mirroring, and more media subscriptions.

Does anyone know if Airplay mirroring on iPad 2 requires both the Apple TV on 4.4 AND iPad 2 on ios 5 or JUST the Atv update on 4.4????

You need both for AirPlay Mirroring to work. iOS 5 on your iPad 2 and Apple TV 4.4 Software update on your Apple TV 2.

Has anyone confirmed yet if it only works with iPad 2? I hear Airplay mirroring was supposed to work with the iPhone 4S.

mirroring will work with A5 based iOS devices, which include both iPad2 and iPhone 4S

Having problems downloading the new software on my ATV 2nd generation. The itunes logo and a cord appears on the TV screen and the light keeps flashing on the ATV device. Its been like this for over 24hrs, any ideas?

WOW, and would it work for the iPad 1?And this feature " allow AirPlay to now show anything on your iPad on an Apple TV" is great!BTW, the iOS 5 is really cool, the ability to play 1080p vids really makes me exciting! Then maybe I don't need to do so much converting with iFunia. Maybe could make the Apple TV to be a HTV centre. That's so great!
