Dev Team To Release Ultrasn0w For iOS 5 Tomorrow [Unlock iPhone]
MuscleNerd, member of the iPhone Dev team has just announced that they will release Ultrasn0w for iOS 5 after an update for MobileSubstrate is released tomorrow.
Dev team has already released Redsn0w for iOS 5 for Mac, which includes the PwnageTool functionality and iH8sn0w had released Snowbreeze for Windows that allows users to preserve iPhone's baseband while upgrading to iOS 5.

its more than a year since baseband 02.10.04 for iPhone 4 had been released and still no progress. they should have reported that this baseband and up is impossible to unlock. waited more than a year for this but no news

This sucks, i have a factory unlocked iphone 4 on 4.3.1 and i heard rumours that updating to ios 5 might lock my phone and on top of that i am on an unlockable baseband.

That's not possible, if you've a factory unlocked iPhone that is. Software updates don't lock it.Let us know where you came across this and we will have it verified as it just doesn't seem right.

There were some discussions in apple.com about factory unlocked iphones becoming locked after updating to 4.3.3. Just to let you know i also jailbroke my iphone 4 with cydia. So can i restore it with ios 5 and still be able to use the factory unlock?

I am running iPhone 4 with baseband 02.10.04 on firmware 4.1..ultrasn0w supports it with 1.2.3 but will upgrading to ios 5 with preserving my baseband work?

Agreed! WTF cares about unlock anymore? iPhone is on 3 networks now. All but tmobile, which has like 5 customers. UNTETHERED JB for IOS5 should be the primary focus. iPhones with tehtered JB is useless and too risky.

Yes it is but you better create custim ipsw without the baseband update and upgrade you device using you custom in orden to keep your baseband

I care about the unlock. I'm one of the T-mobile users with my iPhone 4. So right now the Updated unlock and UNtethered JB are my main focus.

Everyone with 3gs - upgrade your base band to the ipad baseband if u want an unlock. Excited for this. I have a 3gs with the old boot rom. Ios 5 untethered ftw!!! Haha suckers :)

update my iphone 3gs with ipad baseband and now my phone wont read my sim card also no way to activate my iphone 3gs cuz i have no att sim card.

The 4s is both cdma & GSM. Will you be able to flash it to a different cdma network?
