iPhone 4S Fixes Death Grip Issue?
The unconventional design of the iPhone 4's antenna system became a huge issue after a number of users discovered a loss in signal strength when the device was held in a particular way. The controversy grew to such a large scale, that Apple was forced to call a media gathering and brief the press, that the death grip problem wasn't unique to the iPhone 4 but existed in a number of other smartphones as well.

I never had a death grip with my iPhone4, however I am noticing that alerts are not playing which I have purchased from iTunes. Sometimes they play when I get a mail alert, sometimes not. Anyone else having this problem with their 4s?

Just give it some time. Someone will come up with a video of them death gripping both sides, the top, and the bottom. Then it'll be blown out of proportion all over again.I've noticed signal loss on every phone, so it's not that big of a deal to me. My iphone 4 worked fine for me and it wasn't an issue.

Only 1 bar dropped for an iphone 4? It should be more than that. I've got the GSM version of the iphone 4 and the deathgrip will drop the signal all the way down to 1 bar easily from the full 5 bars. That's only if the phone is bare, if it has a bumper then you don't see that. I really hope the 4s does solve this.

Death grip still applies. Cover the whole left side including the top. I just completely lost service on mine by trying it

Yep, my phone goes from 4/5 bars to nothing if i hold it with my left hand.maybe apple expect me to text left handed ?

I think I have death grip on my 4S. Whenever I hold it tightly and cover the border I immediately drop from 3 bars to 1 in a blink of an eye - litterally. When I use it loosly it gains 3 bars back fast.

I have both, 4 and 4S, and when 4 shows 5/5, 4S shows 3/5 bars. Iphone 4S seems to be still affected with antennna problem.
