Apple TV Software Update 4.4.1 Released To Fix Connect To iTunes Bug
Apple has just released Apple TV software update 4.4.1 for the second generation Apple TV.
It has been less than a week since Apple released Apple TV software update 4.4 (iOS 5). According to the release notes, Apple has fixed the issue that required few Apple TV 2G units to be connected to iTunes in order to complete the update.

im new to apple tv, just purchased atv2, just jailbroke it and added nitoTV, im currently running 4.3 and jailbroke it with seas0n pass, if i update it will i lose the jailbreak and nitoTV? it says update when i turn it on, is it ok to update?

No don't update you will lose into tv, get icefilms on xbmc and you will never update again :)
