Seriously, who holds down the power button until it asks you to slide to turn off, then ignores it and closes the cover? This is one of those oddball security problems, which only about 1 person in about 100 million would do. Why the hell would you want to turn off the ipad in the first place? And then forget to slide to turn off? Anyways, even if you DO happen to do this, it will show almost no info that you need to worry about, unless you did it when you were doing some online banking and did the arcane power off and close the cover.

No kidding. I thought they meant that whatever you're doing, if you close the smart cover, it'll wake the device and bypass the passcode. THAT would be a huge flaw. This is simply a half-functional loose end that, thanks to 9 to 5 Mac, people now know how to do (fun fact: bad people have the internet too).

This security flaw isn't for iPad owners to try, it's for iPad thieves.

It is a serious flaw...However, I think it is no problem when the smart cover control is set to OFF...

you dont have to press power of u just put in sleep and whoever wants to look at ur stuff holds power and then opens and presses cancel. So its not 1 in a millon its 1 of 1 that has a smart cover ios5 and has auto unlock. But still its not a big deal.
