Unlocked iPhone 4S Now Available In U.S.
Apple's new iPhone 4S went on sale last month, however the fine print on Apple's US website revealed that the unlocked iPhone 4S will be available only in the November.
So as promised Apple has started offering unlocked iPhone 4S in the US starting today.
As we had noted earlier, the unlocked iPhone 4S will be compatible with only GSM Networks. Apple is selling the unlocked iPhone 4S for $649/$749/$849 for the 16/32/64 GB models respectively with estimated shipping of 1-2 weeks.

Live in the uk bought my 3gs unlocked for £499 sold it for £300 bought my 4 & 4s unlocked again sold the 4 on can really get a great sim only deal here in the uk(The 0ne Plan on the 3 network 2200 mins 5000 texts unlimited data no fair use policy and best off all free tethering) all for £25 a month

Unfortunately, it don't support tmo's 1700/2100 band as many people in the states would like to see. Waste of money to buy for edge performance, maybe nxt one.

I hear that this unlocked 4S is not working in India. can someone confirm? Are there any software issues making it not a true "world phone"? What about the issues with iOS 5 - outgoing calls getting mute - have these been fixed?

I bought an iphone 4s off contract on apple store, they told me it was att only, I was following instructions from a video on you tube, I said I understand. I got the phone and plug to itunes, it said your iphone has been unlocked. it only works on ATT, I do not need the F phone, i need to use other carriers, I have to return the iphone to apple, it sucks, i Paid $649 plus tax

Yes but no 3G since t-mobile 3G works on different frequency. So you'd only get edge.

Your iPhone 4s is unlocked buddy I brought my iPhone 4s off contract the first day of launch I restored it though iTunes and it said " Congratulation, your iPhone has been unlocked." I tried a simple mobile chip on it and it worked

the iphone 4s i bought off contract had an att micro sim card on it. I have and ATT sim card and it works, but the one sim card from Telcel, does not work, it shows no service. I need to use the phone in Mexico

how do know for sure if your carrier unlocked? I paid $702 after taxes for a 64gb am i in that catagory?

They didnt have the unlocked iPhone 4s on the lunch date 10/14/2011. The unlock iPhone 4s just arrive in November.
